From Reserved and Insecure to a Model Employee
Mike started in the training program at Thumb Industries in 2010 after experiencing some troublesome thought patterns which inhibited him from continuing to work at various jobs in the community. Since training began, Mike has transformed into a confident, inquisitive role model for other individuals in the training program. In June 2011, Mike was hired at Thumb Industries and is currently working in the manufacturing and janitorial departments. Mike now provides support to his peers working in both departments.
From Repetitive and Isolated to Public Immersion
Julie began receiving services at Thumb Industries in 1998. She started out working in our manufacturing department where she enjoyed the consistency and repetitive nature that manufacturing offered. With the help of staff working side-by-side, Julie slowly transitioned to working at the Thrift Store where she has become more social and adapts to change with less resistance. Staff continues to work with Julie on integrating new duties while working at the Thrift Store.
